When DSW installs a custom counter top, bathrooms vanity, or even that bar, into a new or experienced home, the work is often carried out under the direction of the homebuilder. In such a case, our focus is on ensuring integration with the builder's schedule and maintaining constant communication so that delays and revisions are avoided.

Granite
is magma rock and is the hardest of all building stones with a very close grain that makes it almost impervious to staining and uniquely applicable for any interior use. Its high-gloss finish will endure in the harshest environments.

Marble
is re-crystallized limestone that is dense. It takes on an excellent polish and is available in a wide range of colours, patterns and veining.

Quartz
is a “man-made” material. It is usually comprised of 90-94% natural quartz aggregates, one of nature’s strongest elements, with the balance of the material consisting of color pigments and polyester resins that allows for an extremely uniform look.

Pick Your Own Slab
Customers, wholesalers and designers are always welcome to visit our shop and area warehouses to view our available inventory and to get additional design ideas. Especially with the varied pigmentation and patterns available with granite and marble, we encourage personal slab selection on stones that have a lot of movement or unique coloring.

Know What Type of Edging You Like
At DSW, the standard finished edge profile included in all base pricing is an "eased and polished" straight edge. While a straight edge profile can maximizes the bold appearance and quality, Dimanti also offers other edge profile to compliment the style of your home.

What About Seams?
Most large granite installations will require seams. During layout and design Dimanti will always try to minimize and custom colour match the number of seams required.

How Do I Clean My Stone?
It’s important to care for your investment properly. Maintenance of granite surfaces is easy and can be done with everyday household cleaners. For occasional deep cleaning or to bring back any lost luster, polish preserver is a good choice. Marble is more porous and may stain more easily. It should be cleaned with warm water and dried thoroughly to avoid spotting. Quartz is virtually non-porous and can be cleaned with non-abrasive cleaners or household bleach.
Useful information about granite

Dimanti Stone Works does not recommend marble for a kitchen counter top. Marble is a softer stone and is not resistant to heat or scratching. Marble fabrication and installation may have special requirements. Please address any questions or concerns with us.

The actual colour of the installed granite or marble may vary from a smaller or sample piece. During the formation of the stone over millions of years, natural variations such as pitting and fissures may have developed. Some stones are more prone to this occurrence, such as Verde Maritaka and Baltic Brown. For this reason, we require that the Customer view and approve the material before fabrication.

The thickness of a slab of granite or marble is 1 1/4, some also available in 3/4". In some cases the thickness of an entire slab can vary by 3mm.

Granite and marble are chosen for fabrication in the form of a slab. A slab is like a slice of bread. It comes from a block (or loaf) cut from the quarries in Brazil, Italy, India, USA, or other countries. Within a block the twenty (20) or so slabs or slices are essentially the same. The Company stocks slabs from within one block. For example, if there are twenty (20) slabs of Ubatuba granite in a block, all slabs in our stock will match. Therefore, if you order from our stock, and your kitchen or bath requires numerous slabs, all slabs essentially will match. Please be aware that some distributors may carry different blocks or lots of the same material, and, therefore, if you order numerous blocks from a distributor, there may be a variation in countertops of the same type of granite or marble.

Marble and granite are products of nature. We cannot be held responsible for the variations of color, markings and texture of the material once the material is selected and installed. It is important that the Customer carefully select his/her/its materials.

Marble is softer and more porous than granite. It is also heat resistant.
